The Government has announced Govt. Holiday 2021 Bangladesh today. The public and government holiday date has been proclaimed by the authority for the upcoming 2021 year. The cabinet of Bangladesh has approved the govt holiday on 02 November 2021. According to the announced notice, Bangladesh will have a total of 22 govt holidays in 2021. Holiday means happiness to everyone. From the students of primary level to the official at the ministry, holiday is an event of joyous. People of all ages of life longs for the holidays each day. Recently, the government has fixed the date for the govt holiday in Bangladesh for the year of 2021. In a virtual cabinet meeting on Monday (November 2nd), the “2021 Holiday List” got approved.
The holiday includes general or public holiday and executive order holiday for the people and government official. It is expected that a large portion of government officials and employees will go on weekly leave in the upcoming year. This year, out of 22 days of public holidays, eight days of holidays fall on Friday and Saturday. As the cabinet has approved the list of govt holiday for 2021, now the Ministry of Public Administration Bangladesh will issue an order in this regard.
Government Holiday 2021 in Bangladesh
In Bangladesh, there are five days of optional govt holiday in Bangladesh in 2020 for Muslims, eight days for Hindus, eight days for Christians and five days for Buddhists. The govt holiday in Bangladesh includes Martyr’s Day and International Mother Language Day on February 21, 2021, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birthday on March 17, Independence and National Day on March 26.
The rests govt holiday 2020 in Bangladesh are May Day on May 1, Jumatul Bida on May 7, Eid-ul-Fitr on May 14 Buddhapurnima (Baishakhi Purnima), 21st July Eid-ul-Azha, 15th August National Mourning Day, 30th August Janmashtami, 15th October Durga Puja (Vijaya Dashami), 19th October Eid Miladunnabi (PBUH), 16th December Victory Day and 25th December Jesus Christ Birthday (Christmas).
Vacation Holiday 2021 By Executive Order
The leave on vacation holiday 2021 by exectuive order are: Shabebarat on 29th March, Bengali New Year on 14th April, Shabekdar on 10th May, days before and after Eid-ul-Fitr on 13th and 15th May, days before and after Eid-ul-Azha on 20th and 22nd July and Ashura on 29th August will be holidays by executive order.
Muslim Festival Holiday 2021 in Bangladesh
Muslim holidays in BD include Shabe Meraj on 12 March, the third day of Eid-ul-Fitr on 16 May, the third day of Eid-ul-Azha on 23 July, the Somba of Akheri Chahar on 8 October and Fateha-i-Yazdaham on 16 November.
Hindu Festival Holiday 2021 List BD
The Hindu festival holidays include Saraswati Puja on 18 February, Shivaratri Vrata on 21 March, Dolayatra on 26 March, Advent of Harichand Thakur on 9 April, Mahalaya on 8 October, Durga Puja (9th) on 14 October, Lakshmi Puja on 20 October and Shyam Puja on 4 November.
Christian Festival Holiday 2021
In addition, Christian Festival Holidays 2021 in Bangladesh are January 1 is the English New Year, February 18 is the Ashes Wednesday, April 1 is the Holy Thursday, April 2 is the Holy Friday, April 3 is the Holy Saturday, April 4 is the Easter Sunday, and December 24 and 26 are the birthdays of Jesus Christ (the day before and after Christmas).
Holiday 2021 for Buddhists
The optional holidays (Buddhist festivals) include – 26 January Maghi full moon, 13 April Chaitrasankranti, 23 July Asadhi full moon, 20 September Madhupurnima and 20 October Pravarana full moon (Ashwini full moon).
Other Holidays in Bangladesh
Optional holidays for employees belonging to small ethnic groups in and around the Chittagong Hill Tracts include April 12 and 15, social festivals similar to Vaisabi and other small ethnic groups in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
According to the Ministry of Public Administration, an employee can be allowed to enjoy a maximum of three days of optional leave per year according to his / her religion. Each employee must obtain prior approval from the appropriate authority to enjoy three days of optional leave prescribed by his religion at the beginning of the year. General leave, executive order may be allowed to enjoy optional leave in conjunction with public leave and weekly leave.
The Ministry of Public Administration also said that in the case of offices whose schedules and holidays are regulated by their own laws or the offices, agencies and institutions whose jobs have been declared as essential by the government, the concerned offices, agencies and institutions will declare the holidays in the public interest.
